This is the start of our basic computer training course for seniors, beginners and complete novices. The computer lesson will answer questions about computer knowledge and skills.
The Five Mouse Strokes

- Point: To point to an item means to move the mouse pointer so that it's touching the item.
- Click: Point to the item, then tap (press and release) the left mouse button.
- Double-click: Point to the item, and tap the left mouse button twice in rapid succession - click-click as fast as you can.
- Right-click: Point to the item, then tap the mouse button on the right.
- Drag: Point to an item, then hold down the left mouse button as you move the mouse. To drop the item, release the left mouse button.

The Keyboard

Whenever you use a computer, you’ll probably use a keyboard. The most common kind is referred to as a ‘QWERTY’ keyboard after the keys on the top row of letters. It was invented by C L Scholes in the 1860s when he was working out the best place to put the keys on a manual typewriter.
